The Viking Sagas is an expansion for Age of Empires II: Definitive Edition that adds the Danes, Saxons, and Varangians, each with distinct technologies, units, and strategies. New shared units, including Varangian Guards, Mounted Crossbowmen, and Longships, expand the options for land and naval warfare in campaigns and multiplayer. The expansion also includes three interconnected campaigns following Harald Hardrada’s rise from exiled prince to Viking ruler. Fight across Scandinavia, the Mediterranean, the Kyivan Rus, the Byzantine Empire, and England as Harald pursues wealth, power, and a return to the throne.
